About Dr Anthony Dortimer

With over two decades of specialist cardiology experience, Dr Anthony Dortimer brings world-class cardiac care to patients across Melbourne's northeast.

Dr Dortimer graduated from the University of Melbourne. He undertook two years of cardiology training at the Austin Hospital, University of Melbourne teaching hospital, followed by two years of advanced cardiology fellowship at the renowned Penn State University Medical Centre in Pennsylvania, USA.

Since returning to Melbourne, Dr Dortimer has maintained staff positions at both the Austin Hospital and Warringal Hospital in Heidelberg.
He serves as the Victorian cardiology partner for the Royal Flying Doctor Service and provides specialist services to the Australian Defence Force in Victoria.
Comprehensive Heart Care
As a highly experienced interventional cardiologist, Dr Dortimer performs cardiac interventions including coronary angiography and stenting. His practice encompasses all aspects of cardiology, including hypertension and coronary artery disease management, cardiac stress testing and heart failure treatment. He is also fully qualified as an independent medical examiner, providing medicolegal opinions for WorkCover cases.

​Dr Dortimer takes a compassionate, communicative approach - clearly explaining your condition and treatment options so you feel informed and supported. Consulting in Heidelberg and at the Manningham Specialist Centre in Lower Templestowe, he welcomes patients of all ages (excluding infants). His caring staff look after patients with kindness from first contact through to follow-up, and patients pay no gap for procedures at private hospitals.
I found Dr Dortimer to be excellent in all ways. He has wonderful interpersonal skills which always makes a huge difference.
